Longtrail Farms is currently looking for Workshop Assistant/Diesel Mechanic to join our team located in Parilla, South Australia. This is a key role and will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant and equipment in an organised schedule of work as required.

What to expect day to day?
-
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will maintain and repair all equipment or work with a specialised repair agent.

You will undertake the preventative maintenance schedule to ensure limited downtime of machines.

You will provide mentoring support to junior farm members to build maintenance skills across the team.

You will be responsible for the overall presentation of the workshop and surrounding yard so that inventory is appropriately stocked and well organised and the areas looks tidy always.

You will provide back up support to monitor and repair irrigation operations as directed by the Workshop Manager.

Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance on plant and equipment on systems like SafeAg Systems.
About you:

Qualification in Mechanics or Agriculture (desirable)
-
Mechanical and welding aptitude
-
Previous experience maintaining farm equipment
-
Previous experience operating farm machinery
-
Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and online systems/apps.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Forklift license (desirable)

Chemical User Permit or willingness to complete
